Zimtal Nut Almond Milk Bag Review

Today I received a Zimtal Nut Milk bag. The food grade nylon bag is BPA free and no bleach is used in the process of making the bag.   If you were to heat it for some reason, it can handle anywhere from 428 f and 516f.  I guess it would be great for straining soup stock!

I made almond milk once before and used a cheesecloth.  I was frustrated and never tried again.  I always buy it, every week, sometimes up to three 1/2 gallons.  My son loves it.  We avoid soy milk, and almond milk with carrageenan in it.  That is a whole different topic right there.  If you can, avoid carrageenan at all costs.  In small amounts, I doubt it would do anything to the body, but we drink a LOT of almond milk, so we steer clear of almond milk like Almond Breeze, which has carrageenan in it.  I decided it was time to try to make my own again using this nylon bag.  I read the reviews and was excited to try this.  It can be used for other food items like, cold press coffee straining.

Here are some pictures of my process.  I used regular almond milk and I was overzealous and did not soak them at all.  The milk tasted just fine to my son, who absolutely loves almond milk.  The nylon bag did not ooze any pulp at all.  I squeezed this bag with two hands, and hard, and no pulp came out, AT ALL!

Don't ever use a cheesecloth again when you have this product - there is NO NEED EVER! Amazing bag and works 100%!  This makes preparing nut milk so much easier. I cannot believe it's this easy. Magnetic Screen Door Review

Today I received a Magnetic Screen Door sold by iGotTech to review.  I live in the land of mosquitos born diseases, like West Nile virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, and St. Louis Encephalitis.  We've also have gotten word on the news that there have been a few cases of Dengue Fever in the immediate counties near us.  Nooooo!!!!

So needless to say, we are cautious right now since there have been cases on the news in the immediate area.  We wear repellant when we go in the back or front yard. We have holes in the back porch screen, so we decided to set this up out there to help double up on keeping the mosquitoes out.

Since putting this up, we have noticed less that have found a way in. Sometimes we think they came in on our dog or clothes.  The no-see-ums have not been stopped though.  We still have to keep a citronella candle on to make sure those suckers stay away.  They are so small though. eBook – Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg Review

Today I received a really cute eBook to read my son.  It is called Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg.   I thought it was going to be about Easter, and so did my son.  He kept asking where the Easter Bunny was.  I had to tell him that some animals have eggs to make other animals.  He was confused but as I read on and as he looked at the pictures, I think he understood what I told him.  The book teaches children to be kind to animals.  It also teaches them to never give up.  It shows them another side to animals that they normally wouldn't see, the egg that makes another animal.   It's a cute and fun read.  The illustrations are what put the icing on the cake for this book.  Terry is an extremely cute and likable character. DKnight Magicbox Ultra-Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Review

Today I received a  DKnight Magicbox Ultra-Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker to review.  I was impressed as soon as I opened the box.  The sleek and portable design is perfect for taking it around the house or out of the house.  You can take it to the beach if your connecting via smartphone (just put it inside a plastic zip lock bag to keep sand and water out).  It only weighs 8.3 ounces.  It is approximately 7 inches long.  I liked the rubber frame around it.  That protects scuffs or scratches.  The little speaker was impressive and loud.  The stats on the speaker are below. 

It was extremely easy to hook up to my iPhone, but you can hook this up to any Bluetooth device.  I skipped past the charging as the company recommends, simply because I was too darn excited to stream music from my phone.  Once fully charged, the battery will last for 10 hours.  There is a USB cable to charge it at your computer, laptop, in the car or wall with an adapter for the USB. (Just use your phone block to plug in the USB cord to the wall and charge.)  I turned on the Magicbox and then went to my bluetooth settings on my smartphone.  I turned that on and up came the little magicbox just like the directions said. I didn't have to download a thing. A toddler could have probably hooked it up.

I read it all back to back right away and do appreciate the amount of work that went into this recipe book.  I did know a little about being a vegetarian since I have been one for a year and a half now. 

When I first became a meatless eater, I was a vegan for 8 months. I then started craving eggs and cheese.  I gave in and decided to eat very little of each.  This book will work for those nights you just have no inspiration and need something quick and meatless.  I am a big fan of promoting the MEATLESS MONDAYS catch phrase.  Even if you are not a vegetarian, these recipes are great for ANYONE, (accept Vegans or lactose intolerant people).  There are many many recipes with dairy/cheese in them.  If you are either, you could use Daiya Cheese (Check how many products are free of CHEESE!) and Silk Almond Milk to replace the cow kind.  I've done it with many recipes, including a couple of these by Jonathan Vine.

FREE Super Glove Grill / Oven Mitt & REVIEW

Today I received a pair of "The Super Glove" by Kuisiware.  

They're one size fits all and my hand had more than enough room inside.  The gloves are heat resistant up to 662 degrees fahrenheit.  It says up to 25 seconds under 662 degrees on the directions.  I am sure that I will not be putting my hand inside my oven at broil for over 25 seconds for this review, I will take the company's word for it.  I don't think anyone really ever has to put their hand inside their oven for a longer period of time anyway.  If you are grilling with these on, I would suggest after turning the food, to take off the glove to make sure your palms don't sweat in it.  Once it is wet, the glove will lose its heat resistant properties.  So don't go jumping in the pool with these babies on in between grill checks guys!!

The glove surfaces are non-slip silicone grip.  The red lines are silicone.  The outside is made of 80% M-Aramid and 20% P-Aramid.  Which according to Wikipedia it means: 

"Aramid fibers are a class of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibers. They are used in aerospace and military applications, for ballistic rated body armor fabricand ballistic composites, in bicycle tires, and as an asbestos substitute."

The inside is 100% cotton. 

When you get the gloves all messy with your sloppy baking and cooking ways, you can wash them!  It says to wash with light colors and air dry only.  I think I would turn them inside out just to be safe the silicone doesn't come off.

I tried them right away.  I made some tater tots for dinner.  The oven was at 400 degrees F.  I put both of the gloves on and went into the oven like I was going in for treasure.  I was over eager to try to burn myself.  I was sure these gloves would work and not let me down or lead me to a trip to the ER.  In I went to grab my tots.  I felt nothing.  I lingered there for a good 15 seconds.  My face was flooded with 400 degree air but not my hands and wrists!  They felt like they were inside snug winter mittens, protected from everything.  I decided it was about 25 seconds and took out the tots.  I then realized I think the temperature has to be at 662 degrees to worry about the 25 second rule.  I really felt 25 seconds was more than enough time anyway.  My toddler was standing at the doorway of the kitchen, asking me, "momma in oven?", "mommy tots out!!!". I guess I was making him nervous I was inside the oven for too long.  I always tell him to stay away from the oven, but there was mommy playing in it.  Oh no!  I must reinforce the "Don't go near the stove" rule tomorrow until eternity.

I put my taters back in the oven and decided to do a video too!  See that sucker below!  Hey, these Super Gloves work so well, you will want to play in your oven too!

I ordered a 8x10 puzzle which is considered the medium size.  The ordering process was quite simple to do. Once you find a puzzle shape that you like, you begin by choosing how many pieces you would like for your puzzle.  I chose only 6 pieces so my toddler could have fun putting this puzzle of himself and Thomas the Train together.  We met Thomas in March and he still asks if we can go see him again.  We can't because Thomas is on tour and won't be back to our area until next year.  So I decided to get him this puzzle so he can remember his meeting with Thomas the Train.  

Back to the Piczzle website....you then upload your picture to the website and then add any text you would like.  It was simple.  You do not get to see a preview though, so keep in mind the sample pictures they show and how your puzzle will be set up.

I gave this to my son and he was absolutely thrilled with this picture puzzle from Piczzle.  He couldn't wait for me to open the box to see what was inside.  The box the puzzle came in was already a nice keepsake with a picture of the puzzle glued onto it.  When he opened it, he smiled big and wanted to put the puzzle together immediately.  He didn't realize yet it was going to be the picture on the front of the box.  He got the pieces together pretty good with a little help from me.  He did the puzzle six times in a row, so he can do it all alone now.

The only thing I could suggest is to make sure your hands are clean and dry. The actual picture on the puzzle is of a smooth material and it seems to stain quickly if you have dirty fingers. My son wanted to play with the puzzle after eating dinner so he left a little pizza sauce on it.  It doesn't wipe off like a traditional shiny cardboard puzzle.  The top of the puzzle seems like it has a paper feel to the picture.  The pieces fit well into each other but pop out easily if moved.  I wanted to glue this together and see how well modge podge would work on it, but my son doesn't want it that way.  He wants to keep playing with it.  That is fine with me.   He loves Thomas and this puzzle!

The puzzles are quite affordable and you can personalize it with text too.  These are great for kids and adults.  I could see a man ordering one with a picture of himself and his girlfriend with the words, "Will You Marry Me?" printed on it.    That would be too cute!!  

The presentation of this picture puzzle was wonderful.  The box is sturdy and displays your picture that you choose.  It in itself could be a nice keepsake box to store pictures!
